Meet the Erebidae

A family of generally distinctive species, both in terms of adult and larva. Including the commonly seen Scarlet Tiger and The Cinnabar, which are both regularly seen flying during the day.

The Vapourer larva shown is one of the more striking caterpillars out there, although we have never recorded an adult in the garden.
