We came across this species for the first time when netting excessive duck-weed from the wetland pond surface. We were checking the net for anything we might need to return to the water when out popped the fella below…

We checked it over and with no apparent harm done, we managed to video its departure, looking a bit lost but otherwise fine…
One characteristic of this species is the thickening of the legs in the last third before they join the body. It’s also a very common species, but we have still recorded it as a species we are unsure of.
