Meet the Plants…

The Plant Kingdom…

…although nowhere near as diverse as the animal kingdom, plants do dominate the biomass of the garden and have an influencing effect on soil chemistry, light availability, hydrology and also act as a main source of food for all other forms of life (including other plants).

The most diverse group of flowering plants on the planet, a diversity certainly reflected in the wildlife garden…
We should probably say, meet the fern, as we only have one example of this group…
Less diverse and only producing one seed leaf, the monocots are whoever reasonably well represented in the wildlife garden…
Only a couple of Mosses recorded so far…
