According to the UK Beetle Recording website, this little beetle is widespread and locally common. The distribution map puts one of its known localities around our area in Bristol (UK).
It’s certainly the first time we have seen one in the Garden. This first record was made on the 18th March 2024, with this little fella spotted wandering along a blade of grass, very close to a rather large Common Ragwort rosette, it’s favoured food plant.

We are reasonably sure of a correct ID with this one, but there are a few other things it could be so have marked it as a most likely species on the species list. We have put together a quick youtube short in case it helps anyone identify this who may know differently 🙂
