Large (Cabbage) White – Pieris brassicae
We don’t grow cabbages, but for those who do this species is often a considerable pest, with infestations of its larvae reaching levels where whole crops can be destroyed. For us though it is a welcome visitor and one we feel must have some of the best senses around, certainly sight. Getting near one of these large adults to take a photograph can be tricky.
