Girdled Snail – Hygromia cinctella

This common and attractive garden species keyed out nicely using the e “Land Snails in the British Isles” ^{see reference page}.

Another introduced species and partly recognised for the white band around the extreme periphery. So far we have only found empty shells but now we know what to look for and where (leaf litter) then we are confident we will find plenty on a wet spring day.
